Software Developer

The Software Developer designs, develops, and maintains software applications, working on projects of moderate complexity. They collaborate with teams, analyze requirements, write code, and troubleshoot issues, contributing to all phases of the SDLC. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Project Planning & Execution

• Manage own tasks and timelines. May assist in project planning.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project needs.
• Manage and implements medium-sized projects.
• Independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Consistently meet deadlines and balance workload.
• Collaborates across teams and mentors junior developers.

Coding & Development

• Produce efficient, scalable, and robust code with minimal supervision.
• Review peers' code and provides constructive feedback.
• Writes comprehensive tests and debugs complex issues.
• Participate in and contribute to system design with guidance.

Documentation

• Maintain and improve project documentation.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation for projects and processes.

Process Improvement

• Contribute to the development of process improvements.

• Actively participate in new learning opportunities.

Security

• Implement security measures.

Quality Assurance

• Write comprehensive tests and debugs complex issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 2-5 years proven experience participating in collaborative development environment preferred with proven experience as a software developer or other similar experience.
• A technical certification in a modern programming language such as Java, C#, Python or Angular is strongly preferred. Other acceptable substitutes may include internships, academic projects, coding bootcamps, relevant education (Coursera, edX, Udacity, Udemy, CodeCamp, or some other training profile) and/or participation in hackathons.
• Willing to complete advanced certifications as required by individual projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on results and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Environment: Hybrid work environment (office and remote).
• Mobility: Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Vision: Must be able to read from a computer or mobile screen.
• Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Travel: Occasional travel to client sites or conferences may be required.
• Standard business hours, with potential for extended hours during project deadlines or critical phases. Based in the Midwest, so standard business hours are typically 8:30 AM EST to 5:00 PM EST. Standard business hours may vary depending on client needs.
